Many businesses large and small struggle with the decisions of leasing vs. buying their computers and peripherals. Here is an article that talks about some of the advantages and disadvantages. I have worked for many IT departments and it is about half and half. Larger businesses tend to lease a bit more. This includes large law firms.

Obama and Future Technology

Above is link to a news article about how our government technology may change when Obama takes over office in January 2009. Apparently he wants to insure security, but also wants all of our government agencies to "have the right infrastructure, policies and services for the 21st century." Universal broadband access will be pushed and it will be interesting to see where the net neutraility issue ends up with Obama desiring new government regulation of the Internet.
